Demons in My Driveway by R.L. Naquin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"Demons in My Driveway" is the fifth book in R.L. Naquin's Monster Haven Series. Zoey heads to London to attend the international gathering of Hidden Governments with Bernice to find out that the Americans aren't the only ones suffering losses. With the opening up of a portal to another world, Zoey and her mother are put on lockdown inside her Fairy Ring. Whoever is trying to break the Covenant is stepping up their game. Can Zoey and her mother survive long enough to keep the Covenant from falling apart? Or will they be the cause of it's destruction. Overall, there are so many twists and turns, it's hard to put this book down. R.L. Naquin is a master story teller. You must read her books in order so that you can fully enjoy this series.

Phoenix in My Fortune by R.L. Naquin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"Phoenix in My Fortune" is the sixth and last book in R.L. Naquin's Monster Haven Series. After a four month reprieve after the end of the last novel, the last hidden has finally arrived in the shape of the Shadow Man. At first he is just an after image in her peripheral vision. But then after a group of kids disappear, Zoey and her family of hidden and nonhidden humans band together to bring them home safe and sound. However, the Shadow Man isn't done. Sure he takes his sweet time taunting Zoey and her mother, but he's always in the back of their minds. Change is in the air. It is hard and it is bittersweet. But it's up to Zoey to keep it together long enough to face the Last Hidden once and for all. Will she rise from the ashes like the Phoenix or will her flame go out forever? Overall, I loved this series. And I am left with that bittersweet feeling that comes with finishing the last novel in a series. I can only hope that master story teller R.L. Naquin will surprise Monster Haven fans with additional short stories that take place after the end of "Phoenix in My Fortune".

The Vampire's Mail Order Bride by Kristen Painter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"The Vampire's Mail Order Bride" is the first novel in Kristen Painter's Nocturne Falls series. Delaney is a waitress with the dream of someday being a pastry chef. But when her musing causes her to forget her apron at the restaurant she works at, she has to return to work to pick it up. Big mistake. She accidently overhears her boss arguing in the back room, only to witness him shooting someone. Panicked, Delaney rushes out of the restaurant, and finds herself several streets over at a matchmaking agency. Lucky for her the receptionist is too busy to see her borrow one of the clients folders. By the next day Delaney and her cat Captain Underpants arrive in Nocturne Falls, Georgia with a new identity. Hugh is a vampire with a bit of baggage. He's spent over three hundred years feeling guilty for the death of his wife. But his grandmother has a plan to get his afterlife back on track with a nice girl who is willing to become a vampire to give her some grandbabies. Overall, I think that this is a great start to a very fun filled series. I really enjoyed reading this novel. The plot moves pretty quickly, and it keeps the reader's attention. Nocturne Falls is a great back drop. I look forward to reading all of the books in this series.

The Werewolf Meets His Match by Kristen Painter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"The Werewolf Meets His Match" is the second book in Kristen Painter's Nocturne Falls Series. Ivy is the daughter of the Tennessee alpha. As all children of Alpha's know, they might one day have to submit to an arrange marriage if it benefits their pack. Normally, that would be okay, but the Tennessee and Georgia packs have been rivals for generations. Ivy must get Hank to agree to this marriage in less than three days in order to avoid a war between the two packs. Can Ivy learn to trust Hank with her secrets, or will they remain enemies? Overall, I enjoyed this novel. Hank is an amazing guy, and a Ranger to boot! This is a fun novel to read. I also enjoy the fact that a lot of the characters mentioned in the first novel make cameo appearances in this sequel.

The Gargoyle Gets His Girl by Kristen Painter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"The Gargoyle Gets His Girl" is the third novel in the Nocturne Falls Series by Kristen Painter. Willa, the fae jeweler, mentioned in the two previous stories, is fairly happy with her life. A runaway at the age of fourteen, she's worked her way up in the world and has finally settled down in Nocturne Falls. But when a special order goes wrong, Willa must deal with a client who has now become obsessed with her. Nick, the gargoyle bouncer, mentioned in the two previous stories, is fairly happy with his life. It's just that things are a bit boring. Determined to make his new life work, Nick takes a new job working as the gargoyle on duty at the water fountain in the park during the night shift. Willa makes a wish to be safe at the fountain, Nick is magically forced to comply. Can Nick look past Willa's fae heritage? Will Willa learn to trust Nick to keep her safe? Overall, this was another fun filled novel. I've really enjoyed reading this series and hope that you do too.

Dead Vampires Don't Date by Meredith Allen Conner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
"Dead Vampires Don't Date" by Meredith Allen Conner is the first book in the Kate Storm series. Kate is a size 10-12 cursed mortal witch who specializes in matchmaking. Ironically, her curse involves never finding a lover that will survive the relationship. After the death of one of her boyfriends, she decided that she was never going to date again. Which is fine, she has her business, an immortal vampire best friend, an awesome aunt, and a dog who is possessed by a hit man who is always crushing on her. Than there is Ash. A demon lord who suddenly appears in her life. He's decided that she's going to be his girl, no questions asked, none needed a demon wants what he wants, right? So, that's team Kate. The rest of the plot includes the death of a vampire prince, and the scary assassin who believes Kate had something to do with said prince's death. Overall, this novel is for the type of reader who likes to know exactly what the female protagonist is thinking throughout the entire length of the story. Since this is a series, many questions get left unanswered. For example, why does Ash suddenly appear in Kate's life? Why was Kate's family cursed? Why are demon lords drawn to the women in Kate's family? Which sin is Ash's (since there are seven demon lords, and each of them represents one of the seven deadly sins.) Why was Kate's dog possessed by a New Jersey hitman when she lives in Idaho? Why is Morgan, Kate's best undead friend, special? Will any other members of the vampire royal family investigate what happened to their prince? How did Kate and Morgan become friends? Was Morgan a witch before she became a vampire? Since Morgan is 1,500 years old, is she one of Kate's ancestors? The list goes on, but I'll stop there for now. This novel is a fun read, and if you like stories about witches, vampires and other supernatural creatures you may like it too.

Pranic, Pregnant, and Petrified by Karen Ranney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"Pranic, Pregnant, and Petrified" by Karen Ranney is the third novel in "The Montgomery Chronicles". Marcie just found out that she's pregnant. Any other time in her life she would have been ecstatic. But with a master vampire wanting her child, several organizations possibly gunning for her, and her former bodyguard drained beyond being able to be turned, she's feeling a bit emotional. Which is totally expected. Especially since she's not sure which of the two men she was with is the baby daddy. Can Marcie keep it together long enough to keep her long enough to forge the alliances she needs to keep her child safe? Overall, I really enjoy reading this series. Even though Marcie is a very powerful individual, she acknowledges her flaws and works on improving the circumstances of the events that have happened around her.

Switching Hour by Robyn Peterman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"Switching Hour" a "Magic and Mayhem Book 1" is another fantastic addition to the collection of paranormal romance novels by Robyn Peterman. Zelda starts out materialistic and self absorbed. She just finished spending nine months in a prison for witches due to her obsession with high end fashion and running over her familiar. Now on probation, she has a month to complete a task or face being turned into a mortal. Can Zelda find her place in the world, or will she return to her nomadic ways? Overall, this is another fun novel featuring a slightly unbalanced but loveable female protagonist. The secondary characters are wacky as well, but in a good way. If you like Robyn Peterman's other novels, you'll enjoy this one as well.
