Karma's Coven: Witches of Karma: Rose Circle Coven #1 (Karma's Witches Book 3.5) by Hope Welsh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Hope Welsh's "Karma's Coven: Witches of Karma: Rose Circle Coven #1" follows the couple Ridge and Catlin mentioned in "Healing Karma: Witches of Karma". Catrina discovered that she has the gift of telekinesis as a teenager. It ruined her life, and now that she's back in Karma, she's working on being as normal as possible. Ridge doesn't have any special abilities, but he goes to the Rose Circle Coven meetings to do research for the novels he is writing. The two mix like oil and water. When Ridge overhears Melissa telling Catrina that she's in danger, Ridge steps up and wants to do what he can to protect her. Overall, I enjoyed reading this novel. The dialogue between Ridge and Cat was really good. Meanwhile, Welsh has given both characters really strong personalities. At first I thought that this series might skip around and focus on different couples within the Rose Circle Coven, but based on the ending, that doesn't seem like the case. Just a warning it's a cliffhanger. Other than that I can't wait to read the next story in this series.

Bloodstone by Barbra Annino
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Barbra Annino's "Bloodstone" is the second book in the "Stacy Justice Mysteries" series. At the end of "Fire Opal" Stacy has a mystery visitor who turns out to be a fourteen year old girl named Ivy. Claiming to be Stacy's sister, she begs her for help saving their mother. Several days pass between the two books, so when "Bloodstone" starts off we find Stacy and Ivy camping out at Chance's house. Stacy doesn't know what do about Ivy. Cinnamon is out of the country with her husband taking the vacation Leo purchased for himself and Stacy. So, since Ivy made Stacy promise not to tell her grandmother about her, Stacy is going to try to figure out what is going on all by herself. At least that was the original plan. Overall, this was a cute sequel. There was a lot going on and in the end we learned more about the structure of witchcraft in the overall world that Stacy lives in.

Thirty-Two Going on Spinster by Becky Monson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Becky Monson's "Thirty-Two Going on Spinster" is a chick lit with a touch of romance. Julia has an epiphany while watching the news one night which leads her to look up the term 'Spinster'. Change is hard for Julia, but it is inevitable. Overall, I enjoyed reading this novel. Normally I don't read straight chick lit books, but the title hooked me. I am also thirty-two and consider myself a spinster, so I was really able to relate to a lot of what Julia was going through. This novel is perfect for anyone who feels stuck in their job, their lack of social life, and/or their lack of a love life.

Unfinished Muse by R.L. Naquin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
"Unfinished Muse" by R.L. Naquin is a fun modern mythology novel. At twenty four, Wynter Greene has hit bottom. She's quite her job and dumped her boyfriend all in one day, and worse of all she'll likely have to move back in with her mother if she can't find something fast. The straw that breaks her metamorphic camel's back, is when she throws out a quilt she's been working on for a few years. Seemly out of no where her potted philodendron starts talking to her, and won't quit until she's listened to what she has to say. Wynter is to report the Mt. Olympus Employment Agency in order to get her life back on track. Will Wynter ever learn not to give up? Or is she doomed for the Underworld. Overall, I really enjoyed this novel. It was a fun and fast read filled with quirky characters and lots of character growth for the main character. If you like novels that take place in the present that include a twist of mythology, then this is for you! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did and I can't wait to read the sequel!
